Neighbourhood Initiative for Women Advancement (NIWA) is a non-governmental, not-for-profit organization which believes:

  • That the greatest resource with and around us is not harnessed adequately
  • That we lose sight of the fact that this great resource can bring poverty to a halt.      

THIS RESOURCE IS WOMEN AND YOUNG PEOPLE.

NIWA is an initiative towards women and young peoples’ empowerment and emancipation. It was established in 1996 as an effort towards addressing the socio-economic and political problems, harmful cultural and traditional practices against women, the girl-child and young people, poverty and disease in our community.

NIWA is registered with the Corporate Affairs Commission under the Part C of the Company and Allied Matters Act as a charitable organization limited by guarantee CAC\ IT\NO 38152.
